Flip
Tricks
If you have mastered how to stay on your
board and do the ollie then you are ready to move on to the next stage, now you will learn
how to do flip tricks which (suprisingly) are tricks which you do on the ground by ollying
are you flip your board in different ways...
Flipz
Kickflip- This is
probably the easiest flip trick there is and is the one that most people learn first 'cos
its so easy. All you do is get into the ollie position, but move your front foot so that
only your toes and part of your foot is on the board and move it back a bit. Pull a large
ollie and as you go up let your front foot slide ofto the left. Let it make a full turn
and then place your feet back into the normal stance and bend your knees as you land...
Heelflip- Get into the ollie position but with your front foot, put it just behind
the bolts, with your foot turned a little, make sure your toes are off the side of the
board that your facing. Now, once you feel comforatable with this position, hit your tail,
and slide your front foot up and off the side of the board your facing. You should jump
very high so your board doesn't hit the back of your ankle and leg. Now... let the board
rotate beneath you, and pull your feet back over it.Bend your knees on the landing, and
ride away... Click image for video
Varial Flip- Put your back foot half on the tail, place your front foot on a 70
degree angle. Now leen forward and do a pop-shuv it (see next trick) but kick your front
foot down... NOTE: jump forward as your doing this trick.

Hardflip-
A hardflip is when your board rotates 180 degrees like a frontside pop shove-it, but flips
like a kickflip. Here is how its done... First compress for some pop and set your feet as
in image. Keep your shoulders square with the board and ollie higher for this trick. Pop
the board a bit like a frontside pop shove-it, but flip it like a frontside kickflip. This
is tricky, but keep trying. Now you have to get your feet out of the way so the board will
flip freely. Put your feet in the catch position. Flatten out and straighten the board,
then extend your legs. Look cocky, you've just done a hardflip.
